Period Offer (Period Contracts)
Period Offers are agreements with contractors to provide short-term specialist
services on an 'as required' basis.
The agreements provide the Agency with quick access to the expertise of
consultants in a range of sectors including education, health, infrastructure and legal and media services.
Period Offers are awarded through a competitive tender process and are signed
for terms of up to three years and usually include an option to extend for a
further two years. AusAID gives no guarantee of any minimum amount of work that may be offered to a contractor under a Period Offer.
AusAID currently has access to approximately 2,000 consultants in a variety
of sectors through Period Offers. These tender
opportunities are advertised in The Weekend Australian and on the AusAID
Internet site.
AusAID has recently completed re-tendering for the bulk of the Period Offers. A
Period Offer (Period Contracts) List is available, which includes the
expected expiry dates for those agreements. A decision to extend existing
Period Offers will generally be made in the 6 month period prior to the expiry
date of a Period Offer.
Interested parties should monitor the AusAID Business Opportunities pages at
